A Bathroom for Valentine's Day

Thank you Samaritan’s Purse angels for our new bathroom!

For my valentine…

Remember when we got married over twenty-three years ago, under a cloudless summer sky…Pastor Mike read from Philippians 4:19. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” We were encouraged that we wouldn’t be a couple of starving artists getting married a month after my college graduation. Only God knew how much this verse would mean to us after having five kids. No matter how tight our budget, He always provided enough—even if we hoped for more than enough. And we had each other no matter how hard life could get. We could always laugh through it all.

And now we’ve experienced His riches in blessing…from having everything torn away by the flood to having a brand new kitchen and bathroom…more than we could have imagined. We did nothing to deserve this blessing, just loved God. We could never love Him as much as He loves us. These are only “things” but how much more do we appreciate these things after not having them for over a year!

The best part is that standing in our kitchen or bathroom we can feel Christ’s love poured out through the willing hands of the Samaritan’s Purse volunteers. They worked so hard to give us this gift. They are the riches of His glory! God has kept His promise as He always does. We have to celebrate—we got a bathroom for Valentine’s Day!
